Uplift Labs, whose AI-powered technology delivers mobile movement tracking and 3D analysis to enhance performance and health using only smartphones, today announced the launch of Single Camera Hitting, a new capture mode that brings Uplift's 3D baseball hitting analysis to coaches and facilities using just one iPhone or iPad.
Previously, Uplift's 3D motion capture required two synchronized devices positioned around the athlete. Single Camera Hitting removes that requirement, giving coaches a faster, more accessible way to run a baseball hitting assessment without sacrificing the 3D analysis Uplift is built on.
“As accuracy continues to improve, we see single camera capture playing a bigger role across the entire Uplift platform. This release is the first step in making elite biomechanics accessible to any coach with only a single device," said Sukemasa Kabayama, Co-founder and CEO of Uplift.
Single Camera Hitting includes Auto-Capture, a feature that uses on-device pose detection to identify each swing and record it automatically, removing the need to manually start and stop recording between reps. This makes Uplift Capture’s already simple operation even easier, allowing coaches to direct their full attention to the athlete during an assessment.
Results from a single camera assessment appear in the same Assessments experience Uplift customers already use, including Signals insights and headline metrics highlighting the most important parts of the swing.
Single-Camera Hitting is now available for baseball hitting, with support for additional movements planned in future releases. Coaches and facilities can continue using two-camera capture, as the two modes are designed to complement each other rather than replace one another.
Uplift's platform uses standard iPhones and iPads to deliver markerless 3D motion capture and biomechanics analysis without the need for wearables, sensors, or expensive laboratory systems. The company works with professional sports organizations, healthcare providers, and performance facilities across baseball, basketball, tennis, track and field, rehabilitation, and human performance.
